The Palestinian Authority (PA) rescinded its consent to an aid transfer mechanism that would allow the Gulf kingdom to pay salaries to clerks on Hamas' payroll, Qatari envoy to the Gaza Strip Mohammed al-Emadi said on Friday.
He said that the PA decided to cancel the agreement due to fears that facilitating the payments would leave banks under its responsibility exposed to international claims of aiding and financing terrorism.
