Libya's Prime Minister Abdul Hamid Dbeibeh announced that Army Chief of Staff Mohammed Ali Ahmed Al-Haddad and several other people were killed in a plane crash while returning from an official visit to Ankara. Dbeibeh later announced the establishment of an emergency cell to communicate with Turkish authorities. According to Arab reports, in addition to the Chief of Staff, the head of Libya's ground forces staff, the director of military production, and Al-Haddad's advisor were also killed.
