Milton weakens to Category 1 hurricane, NHC says

Milton weakened further and is now a Category 1 hurricane, according to the U.S. National Hurricane Center's (NHC) latest advisory. Milton was located about 65 miles (105 km) west-southwest of Cape Canaveral, Florida, packing maximum sustained winds of 90 mph (150 kph). The hurricane made landfall around 8:30 p.m. EDT (0030 GMT) on Wednesday as a Category 3 hurricane with maximum sustained winds of 120 mph (195 kph) near Siesta Key, Florida.
