Outgoing attroney general Avichai Mandelblit ordered the police to suspend the use of NSO Group's spyware, except in life-saving incidents, as state inquiry headed by Deputy Attorney General Amit Marari was looking into the spiraling scandal.
Public Security Minister Omer Barlev announced on Monday he was setting up a state commission of inquiry to investigate the allegations that the police used the Pegasus malware to spy against citizens, including public figures.
