Negotiations between Israel and Hamas for a cease-fire in Gaza and the release of hostages are 90% complete, but critical issues remain unresolved, a senior Palestinian official involved in the discussions told the BBC Saturday night.
Among the sticking points being debated in Doha are the presence of Israeli forces along the Philadelphi Corridor and a proposed buffer zone spanning several kilometers along the Gaza-Israel border. "Once these issues are resolved, a three-phase cease-fire agreement could be reached within days," the official said.
