Public menorah toppled in Ukrainian city of Kremenchuk

Police in central Ukraine arrested several young men Wednesday on suspicion of toppling the public menorah in the city of Kremenchuk, just before the lighting of Hanukkah candles. Rabbi of the city and Chabad emissary Rabbi Shlomo Solomon‎ said that damage was caused to the menorah, and following the incident he decided to hold a large public lighting for the eighth candle on Thursday evening.
