Mohammed Dahlan: Not aiming for political position in Gaza, West Bank

|
Mohammed Dahlan, former head of the Palestinian security apparatus in the Gaza Strip and who has been living in Abu Dhabi for the past few years, told the New York Times that he does not intend to hold a political position in Gaza or the West Bank. He said regarding the desired leadership for "the day after" the war in Gaza: "Neither Abbas nor Hamas. We must find new people in the Palestinian Authority." Dahlan also stated that he supports the two-state solution, but will not try to convince Israel of this. "It is not my job to convince the Israelis, let them go to hell," he said. (Smadar Perry)
