The Health Ministry on Thursday evening said the number of seriously ill patients suffering from complications of COVID-19 increased by 70% in just one week with 445 people in serious condition currently hospitalized, up from 262 at the same time last week.
Hospitals report 72 people now on ventilators.
The ministry said that since midnight on Wednesday, 4,048 new cases of the virus were confirmed after 85,000 tests conducted indicating a positivity rate of 5.03%
