Iranian plane detained at Beirut airport on suspicion of carrying money for Hezbollah

According to reports in Lebanon, security at Beirut airport detained a plane belonging to the Iranian airline Mahan Air, on suspicion that the flight was carrying funds intended for Hezbollah. Lebanese Interior Minister Bassam Mawlawi said that "the plane is currently being inspected." Local authorities said that any money found on the plane would be transferred to the state of Lebanon. In addition, a diplomat at the Iranian embassy in the country was detained in the airport's passenger hall after refusing to allow security guards to search his bag.
