Israeli Ambassador to the United States Yechiel Leiter, who participated in the negotiation meeting with Lebanon in Washington, said that "the talks were excellent, in an excellent atmosphere. We are united in the need to free Lebanon from Hezbollah." He added that "we discussed the need in the long term to see Lebanon prosperous, and the border between us as a permanent and respectful border, where people cross only in tailored suits to do business and perhaps also in swimwear to vacation."
