Israel Railways establishes investigation committee to examine damage to electrification infrastructure cables

|
Acting CEO of Israel Railways, Avi Elmaliah, said during a press briefing regarding damage to electrification infrastructure cables in central Israel and the Sharon region, and amid heavy congestion at stations nationwide, that "railway service right now is not at maximum capacity - but it is reasonable. After half a day of operation, we saw congestion at Ben Gurion Airport and Lod stations, which we addressed specifically. Minister Regev and the Ministry of Transportation are involved in the incident and conducting situation assessments. We are doing everything to operate at full capacity." Regarding the damage to electrical infrastructure on the tracks, he said "the incident is still under investigation, we have established an investigation committee that will begin working today."
