Australian media reported that the citizen who neutralized one of the terrorists with his bare hands is Ahmad al-Ahmad, a shop owner who was walking at Bondi Beach in Sydney. Ahmad was seen in footage hiding behind vehicles, approaching the terrorist and jumping on him from behind. The two struggled over the weapon until Ahmad snatched it from the terrorist's hands and shot him. When the terrorist fled, Ahmad was documented throwing stones at him. Australia's Channel 7 interviewed his relatives, who said Ahmad was wounded by gunfire during the struggle and is currently in surgery.
