The Lod District Court sentenced Shelly Sheinker, a daycare assistant in Netanya, to seven years in prison after she was convicted of a long series of violent acts against 12 toddlers under her supervision between May 29 and June 27, 2024. The acts of violence included kicking, slapping, hair pulling and slamming the toddlers onto the floor and mattresses. Sheinker was convicted of nine counts of abusing a helpless minor by a caregiver and 33 counts of assaulting a helpless minor by a caregiver causing actual bodily harm. She was also ordered to pay the children compensation totaling 300,000 shekels.
