The Forum of Haredi Municipal Leaders, which includes all the heads of Haredi cities in the country, announced to the police a halt in cooperation over the arrest of draft evaders. The statement read: "The current situation, in which the police have become an enemy of the Haredi sector and are conducting a hunt for yeshiva students in city streets and on roads, does not allow us, to our great regret, to continue municipal cooperation with the police." The letter was signed by forum chairman Meir Rubinstein, mayor of Beitar Illit. The cities that are members of the forum include: Bnei Brak, Beit Shemesh, Elad, Beitar Illit, Modiin Illit, Safed, Rechasim, Kiryat Ye'arim and Emmanuel.
