Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited Julis in Western Galilee, where he met with Israel's Druze community spiritual leader Sheikh Mowafaq Tarif and community leaders. During the visit, he addressed the massacre of Druze in Syria and said: "I am not a naive person. I understand who and what we are dealing with." He added: "When I understood the magnitude of the disaster, we acted immediately. We are currently focusing on three things - protecting the Druze community, creating a demilitarized zone from the Golan Heights south of Damascus to and including Sweida province and establishing a humanitarian corridor that will allow aid delivery. These discussions are taking place right now, at this very moment."
