Foreign Minister Gideon Sa'ar spoke with Bolivia's President-elect Rodrigo Paz and congratulated him on his election, according to Sa'ar's office. The statement added that the Foreign Minister said Israel is interested in turning a new page and fully restoring diplomatic relations between the countries. Bolivia's President-elect said he intends to lead Bolivia to reopen to the world and restore relations with Israel. Bolivia severed its ties with Israel for the first time in 2009 due to Operation Cast Lead and for the second time in 2023 due to the Iron Swords War, after relations had been briefly restored in 2019.
