The State Attorney's Office ruled that the internal police investigation into the handling of the probe into the circumstances of Yuval Castleman's death will not be reopened. Castleman was shot to death after helping neutralize two terrorists in a shooting attack in Jerusalem in 2023. In December 2025, the High Court of Justice accepted his family's petition and ordered Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara to re-examine the decision of the internal investigation unit not to investigate the officers who were involved in determining that there were no bullets in his body. In effect, the State Attorney's Office ruling rejected the family's appeal. The decision stated that "in practice, no evidentiary damage was caused in the case and there is no claim that such damage occurred."
