The government has responded to Supreme Court petitions against initiating the dismissal process of Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara. The government's response stated that "the attempt to force the government to continue the tenure of a political and confrontational legal advisor, who works to thwart government policy on matters most essential to fulfilling its role, and consequently imposing on the public a decree contrary to the essence of democracy by paralyzing and severely damaging government operations, should be rejected outright." It further stated that "the government of Israel sees no point in continuing this charade and expects the Supreme Court to look directly at the magnitude of the absurdity and distortion of law and discussion."
