Earthquake death toll in Turkey, Syria crosses 15,000

The number of deaths following the two major earthquakes that hit Turkey and Syria rose to 15,383 on Thursday, following reports by Turkish authorities confirming more than 3,000 additional casualties.
The death toll in Turkey now stands at 12,391 people, with numbers in Syria standing at 2,992 deaths as a result of the tremors.
