Hamas Politburo member Husam Badran said that the terror organization "explicitly rejects any proposal that calls for the movement's disarmament," according to the Palestinian news agency Shehab, adding that the organization had agreed to "a previous proposal to exchange five hostages for 250 prisoners, including 100 serving life sentences, in addition to 2,000 prisoners arrested after October 7." On Wednesday night, it was reported that Hamas would officially respond "within hours" to the Israeli ceasefire proposal, which includes a six-week ceasefire during which 10 live hostages and 16 dead hostages would be released.
