IDF says tank shell aimed for Gaza target veered off course, fell in southern Israel

The IDF reported Friday that a tank shell fired at a target in the Gaza Strip, due to a malfunction, veered off course and landed in Israeli territory near the border fence.
The military reported that the incident is under investigation. As part of the incident, there is a report being examined that a vehicle in the Ashkelon Coast Regional Council area was hit by shrapnel from the shell. No injuries were reported.
