Haifa's Technion University announced on Thursday it will award German Chancellor Angela Merkel with an honorary doctorate during his visit to Israel next week.
The university said that the doctorate will be awarded for Merkel's "strong and continues support for the state of Israel... and her unrelenting fight against anti-Semitism and racism."
