Chairman of the Women's affairs committee, MK Pnina Tamano-Shata, has said in a Ynet studio interview that she strongly opposes the plan to overhaul the weapon-permit process, effectively reducing the amount of time needed to acquire a permit. "Flooding the streets with weapons will have social consequences, endangering society for all women. Last year, a third of all women murdered will killed by someone who had a weapons permit."
