State Comptroller: Israel's election budget jumps by 247 million shekels in 3 years

|
The election system budget jumped from 336 million shekels to 583 million shekels between 2019 and 2022, marking a 74% increase, according to the State Comptroller's report. State Comptroller Matanyahu Englman wrote that the budget growth is attributed to expanded election integrity monitoring (about 16%), COVID-related expenses (about 7%), natural population growth (about 6%) and index increases (6.85%). The Election Committee also explains this by the increase in polling stations, computing expenses, public information expenses and salary costs.
