Eyal Hayiv, a 37-year-old active prisoner, is the man who was shot dead near a bus stop on Route 65, close to Tzalmon Prison. Hayiv was convicted of murder and manslaughter in 2015 and left the prison with approval to go to work. He walked on foot to a bus stop, from where he was supposed to travel to a factory in the north and then return by public transportation to the prison.
