|
The skeletal remains discovered about two weeks ago in an open area near Hura in the Negev belong to Niveen al-Amrani, who was murdered by her brother in 2020 when she was 21 years old. Her body had not been located until now. Her brother, Naaman al-Khuwaiti, was sentenced in 2022 to 28 years in prison as part of a plea deal. Al-Khuwaiti took responsibility for the murder and admitted that he killed her in their home in Hura in front of their mother, due to an argument that broke out between them. Niveen's father, Hamlan al-Amrani, was convicted of offenses including failure to prevent a crime and assaulting his partner, after he slapped his wife to push her away from their daughter who was being murdered.
