Former IDF Chief of Staff Gadi Eisenkot has founded a party named "Yashar! With Eisenkot." Among those involved in its establishment is Shir Siegel, daughter of hostage survivors Aviva and Keith Siegel. Eisenkot said that "the establishment of the 'Yashar! With Eisenkot' party is a personal and national imperative - to be worthy. The party will work for correction, healing and hope for Israeli society." According to him, "The party will place the security and national interests of the State of Israel above any other consideration, establish a broad governmental alternative and serve as a basis for additional unifications, all with the desire to ensure the existence of the State of Israel as Jewish, democratic and powerful in the spirit of the Declaration of Independence."
