Actor and director Mohammad Bakri has passed away at the age of 72 at Nahariya Hospital after suffering from heart disease. He leaves behind six children - five sons and a daughter. The Arab-Israeli director and actor is widely known for the films he directed - primarily "Jenin, Jenin" - as well as for his roles both on screen and on stage. Throughout his life, he performed at Habima Theatre, Haifa Theatre, Khan Theatre, and in productions such as "Hanna K." directed by Costa-Gavras, "The Scar" by Haim Buzaglo, "On a Clear Day You Can See Damascus" and "Cup Final" by Eran Riklis. Bakri's works are identified with their focus on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, and he is known for attempting to give voice to the Palestinian narrative.
