Qatar's Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani met in Washington with U.S. Vice President JD Vance and discussed "de-escalating tensions in the region." This was announced by the Qatari Foreign Ministry. It was also noted that the two discussed recent developments in the region and Pakistani mediation efforts "aimed at calming tensions in a way that contributes to improving security and stability in the region." During the meeting, Al Thani emphasized "the need for all parties to respond positively to mediation efforts, which will pave the way for addressing the roots of the crisis through peaceful means and lead to a comprehensive agreement that achieves lasting peace in the region."
