The Jerusalem District Court sentenced Ahmad Ahmad Abdallah to 19 years in prison and his brother Mohammad Ahmad Abdallah to 14 and a half years in prison, after they were convicted of attempting to murder a man who had a romantic relationship with their sister in 2023. According to the verdict, Ahmad enlisted his partner to contact the complainant and cause him to arrive at a parking lot near the Mar Elias Monastery in Jerusalem. When he arrived in his vehicle, the defendants fired 11 bullets at him. One of them hit his chest, causing him to lose control and crash into a pole. Following the incident, the complainant required, among other things, a splenectomy.
