Regev: 'Remaining US Aircraft Will Land at Air Force Bases'

|
After Israel decided not to allow additional American refueling aircraft to land at Ben Gurion Airport, Transportation Minister Miri Regev announced she had conducted a situation assessment on the matter. "We are in the midst of summer, hundreds of thousands of tickets were purchased by Israeli citizens to fly and enjoy their summer vacation. We promised to enable these flights and not cancel a single ticket because of American refueling aircraft," she said. "Therefore, I instructed the Israel Airports Authority not to allow landing of refueling aircraft beyond the agreed number, beyond the 20 aircraft that will park at Ben Gurion Airport. The rest of the aircraft will park at Air Force bases."
