New York police began arresting pro-Palestinian protesters who blocked streets near the UN building ahead of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's speech. One of those arrested was Oscar-winning actress Susan Sarandon. Emmy-winning actresses Cynthia Nixon and Hannah Einbinder were also arrested at the demonstration, which was attended by actor Elliot Page. Also arrested were Deputy Mayor Zohran Mamdani, whose entry to Israel was recently denied; Linda Sarsour; Democratic congressional primary winner Drialiys Avila Zavaleta; and WikiLeaks source Chelsea Manning.
