Likud reaches settlement with organizers of initiative to fly Israelis from abroad for elections

|
Central Elections Committee Chairman Judge Noam Solberg heard a petition filed by the Likud party against the Fly&Vote and Fly&AID initiatives, which are designed to help Israelis living abroad come to Israel to vote in the upcoming elections. Solberg proposed that the parties reach an agreement between them. The parties agreed that the prices of flights already offered as part of the initiative will remain as set by the airlines, and no additional flights will be sold as part of the initiative. It was determined that the organizations will bear costs totaling 10,000 shekels. Likud argued that the activities of the initiatives involve providing benefits intended to influence voters. The respondents argued that their activities do not include providing financial benefits. Following the settlement, the Likud petition was dismissed.
