Democrats leader Yair Golan said at the opening of his faction's meeting that "this is the beginning of the end of the worst and most destructive government in Israel's history." Ahead of the Knesset session, he criticized the government: "They are returning with the aim of dismantling the gatekeepers, crushing the state establishment and destroying the foundations of Israeli democracy. The upcoming conference is preparation for the most fateful elections we have ever known."
