Following Unusual Pollution in Haifa: Environmental Protection Ministry Issues Administrative Order to Gadiv Plant

Following the unusual benzene concentrations in Haifa Bay, the Environmental Protection Ministry issued an administrative order to the Gadiv plant under the Clean Air Law. The ministry's statement said it 'views with great severity the fact that the renovation and maintenance operations carried out by the Gadiv plant led to an increase in benzene concentrations measured in recent days at mobile monitoring station 4 adjacent to the Social High School in the Deshanim industrial area in Kiryat Ata and at the Licensing Ministry's monitoring station and to daily exceedances of the benzene pollutant.'
