Giant effigy of Netanyahu burned during Easter celebrations in Spain: 'Display of hatred'

|
During Easter celebrations in the town of El Burgo, Spain, an effigy resembling Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was set on fire. The effigy bore the inscription "people killer" and contained approximately 13.9 kg of explosives, which detonated in front of a local and tourist audience. El Burgo Mayor María Dolores Narváez defended the act, claiming it continues the tradition of "burning Judas," and said, "This is an anti-war message; every year we choose a different figure that represents evil in our eyes." The Israeli Embassy in Spain condemned the act: "The real evil is terror; this display of hatred is an act that incites violence."
