The U.S. Senate confirmed Charles Kushner, father of Jared Kushner and Donald Trump's son-in-law, as ambassador to France. The appointment was approved by a vote of 51 to 45. The American real estate mogul was sentenced in 2005 to two years in prison after being convicted of tax evasion and using a prostitute in an attempt to blackmail a state witness. Trump pardoned Kushner in 2020.
