Deputy Commissioner Alona Shoshen, head of the Israel Police Human Resources Division, is resigning from her position amid an investigation against her and after months of being suspended from the organization. The investigation against Shoshen was opened in June by the Competition Authority, on suspicion of witness harassment, in connection with the case of Prison Service Commissioner Kobi Yaakobi. According to the suspicion, Shoshen recorded former Chief Superintendent Lior Abudraham, the former head of the Police Spokesperson's Unit who serves as a key witness in the case, in an attempt to damage his credibility. Following her interrogation, Shoshen was suspended from the police and subsequently did not return to her position. Shoshen has denied the allegations against her and simultaneously filed a complaint against Abudraham on suspicion of sexual harassment, which he denies.
