Shiran Shabtai Sofer, the mother of 10-year-old Yehali who was allegedly kidnapped and found overnight in Bnei Brak, said that "he was playing with friends at a playground, and a young man came and threatened them to bring him money. The children got scared and ran away, one let him make a phone call. Of all the children, Yehali, who took pity on him, stayed there, and he started manipulating him. He said he was kicked out of the house and had no money, used him to collect donations and took him on a bus to Bnei Brak. I know my child, if he was in the neighborhood he would have returned earlier. Only now is he understanding the magnitude of the incident."
