Police have arrested three suspects from central and northern regions on charges of managing and involvement in a network that trafficked women in Israel and abroad to employ them in sex work. The Tel Aviv District Central Unit and the Intelligence Division, in cooperation with Belarusian police, deployed an undercover agent who helped incriminate the three suspects. The agent, a Belarusian resident, established contact with the network operators and arranged to come to Israel and begin working in prostitution with the aim of generating tens of thousands of shekels monthly, to be split between the agent and the network operators. During testimony from trafficking victims, suspicion arose that one of them had been raped.
