Democratic candidate for New York City mayor, Zohran Mamdani, told a group of leading businesspeople that he will no longer use the phrase "globalize the intifada" - which is perceived as an antisemitic statement - and that he will "discourage others from using the phrase," the New York Times reported, citing three people familiar with Mamdani's statements. According to the report, the Democratic candidate made these remarks in a closed meeting with about 150 senior executives from banks, corporations and law firms, against the backdrop of claims that the candidate's past statements and expressions are antisemitic.
