A faction in the spiritual leadership of the Druze in Syria welcomed the entry of regime forces into the Sweida region, amid violent confrontations in the south of the country where at least 89 people have already been killed. The faction's leaders stated: "We welcome the entry of forces from the Interior and Defense ministries to establish control over security and military centers and protect the province. We call on all armed factions in Sweida province to cooperate with the forces of the Interior Ministry, not to resist their entry and to surrender their weapons."
