Reports from Syria indicate that violent confrontations in the As-Suwayda province continue. Meanwhile, the senior Druze leader in As-Suwayda, Hikmat al-Hajri, who opposed the entry of President al-Shar's forces into the area, issued a statement saying that "internal security checkpoints (regime) will be positioned outside the administrative borders of As-Suwayda province to control the clashes and prevent the infiltration of any groups. No party will be allowed to enter the border villages for 48 hours from the time of the agreement. Bedouin tribespeople remaining in the province will be given the opportunity to leave safely and secure exit passages will be allocated for emergency and humanitarian cases. Any party acting outside the framework of the agreement will bear responsibility for its collapse."
