Since this morning, high concentrations of respirable particles have been measured in central Israel and the Negev, indicating high air pollution originating from dust transport. This was announced by the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Environmental Protection. Similar measurements are expected in the north in the coming hours. According to the forecast, high to very high air pollution is expected throughout the country tomorrow. The high air pollution is caused by south-westerly winds, bringing dust from North Africa to the Israel region. The Ministry of Environmental Protection, in consultation with the Ministry of Health, recommended that sensitive populations, including people with heart and vascular diseases, lung patients, the elderly, pregnant women and children, avoid strenuous physical activity outdoors.
