Leah Goldin, mother of Lt. Hadar Goldin whose body has been held in Gaza since 2014, addressed a UN Security Council session on fallen captives. "For nearly 11 years, my son's body has been held in Gaza by a terror organization that exploits humanitarian frameworks for political purposes," Goldin said, adding that "UN member states must act to return remains of the deceased to their families for burial." She accused world nations of failing to respond to the issue and said "the international community is turning a blind eye."
