The Foreign Ministry announced that Israel will assist Cyprus in firefighting efforts for blazes that broke out earlier on the island by sending air force planes. "The planes are expected to depart this evening. Israel stands with Cyprus and is committed to extending a hand in times of emergency," the statement said. Two people died in the fire that broke out yesterday in the southern part of the island.
