The Be'er Sheva District Court increased the sentence of Guy Hadad (44), who stole vehicles after the October 7 massacre from Kibbutz Be'eri, and sentenced him to seven and a half years in prison. Hadad stole the vehicles, including those belonging to massacre survivors and captivity survivor Eli Sharabi, in order to sell them in the Palestinian Authority. Sharabi discovered his vehicle had been stolen only when he returned from captivity. The Southern District Prosecutor's Office filed an appeal against the lenient sentence initially imposed on Hadad by the Magistrate's Court, which was only five and a half years. Hadad was convicted of conspiracy to commit a crime and five counts of vehicle theft with accomplices.
