Israel and the United States decided on the timing of the strikes in Iran based on intelligence of a possible gathering of senior Iranian regime officials. This was reported by The Wall Street Journal citing an Israeli military source, who noted that three gathering sites of Iranian officials were attacked simultaneously and several were killed.
