Defense Minister Israel Katz said that "the serious incident on the Fly Dubai plane was a jihadist terror attempt, which was thwarted only thanks to the bravery of several Israeli passengers who broke into the cockpit, overpowered the terrorist and with their own hands returned control of the plane to an additional flight crew that was present there." Katz added: "According to the initial information we have, the terrorist's intention was one: to crash the plane with all its passengers. When the Prime Minister and I issue security warnings and alerts based on intelligence, it would be wise for everyone - both our enemies from outside and the uninformed former officials from within - to listen and take it seriously."
