Lenient plea deal for Maya Vishniak's killer: Not convicted of premeditated murder and assaulting his mother

|
According to a plea deal submitted to the Tel Aviv District Court, Amit Almog was convicted of killing his former partner Maya Vishniak in May 2020, but not of premeditated murder with aggravating circumstances. Additionally, charges against Almog for assaulting and stabbing his mother were removed from the indictment after it was proven that his actions were under the influence of drugs. According to the original charges, Almog strangled Vishniak to death, photographed her body and scattered banknotes on it. It was also claimed that he attacked his mother who arrived at the apartment and injured her. Meanwhile, no agreement has been reached between the prosecution and Almog's attorneys regarding the sentence.
